Health Profile:

Health Profile: We all know health is wealth. But in our country we are much more concerned about the wealth status than our health status. We take opinions from many consultants, do various types of investigations & some of them are very important and useful during diagnosis and treatment of a patient. But most of the time, these prescriptions, medication lists, and investigation reports are not properly and sequentially incorporated or managed by the patient. Sometimes the patient even loses them. Therefore, most of the time, physicians face difficulties or are delayed in taking prompt decisions regarding the diagnosis and treatment. So, for the 1^st time in Bangladesh, we (Life & Health) are going to introduce “Health Profile” of a patient, which will incorporate all the information regarding past and present medical history, relevent family history, investigation reports, medication history and all other necessary information in a proper sequence.

Importance: Health Profile is like a health account system in which all the health related information such as medical history (past & present), current health status, relevent family history, investigation reports, past and present medication lists, are presented in a sequential manner. As our doctor patient ratio is not satisfactory, it will definitely help the consultant/physician to take prompt decisions in cases of surgery, blood transfusion, new medications, which in turn will improve doctor-patient relationship.

Advantages:

  All health related information is in a single profile which can serve as a health database. 

Reduces consultation time that helps the consultants to take prompt decisions which can be a lifesaving matter.

Anyone can log into his/her database and see his/her personal health profile from any location in the world.

A patient will also be provided with an Emergency Health Card with the health profile in which blood group, diagnosis, any allergy, emergency contact numbers will be listed which could be lifesaving in cases like accidents or emergency blood transfusion.

A patient with Health profile can consult with the physicians of Bangkok Hospital, Thailand for opinion through telemedicine or 2^nd opinion in cases of emergency.

How to make a “Health Profile”:

1. Contact with the Life & Health Office through telephone, e-mail or directly and take an appointment.
2. Come with all the necessary health related papers like prescriptions, medications list, investigation reports on the appointed date and get registered with the appropriate fees.
3. Consult and give history to the duty doctor regarding all illnesses (past & present), relevent family history, investigation reports, medications, future treatment plan and any other related information.
4. With all the above information, the doctor will enter all the data in the database and prepare your health profile.
5. Visit the Life and Health Office on the given date to collect your Health profile with Emergency Health Card.
